    Hello,

I am using the UM7 in my senior project for electrical engineering, and I have a few questions. The first of which, is the Expansion Board required for set up? If there is already an output, I don’t feel the expansion board would be necessary because I could just test it and figure out what the output is just from taking some data. Does it output raw data or voltage differences?

My goal is to use the UM7 to send the information to an Arduino Uno and seven segment display. However, I didn’t get the expansion board and time is running short so I want to make sure I’m not going to need it to continue my project.

    Thanks!

DO you mean the USB expansion board? No, you don’t need it as the UM7 has a 3.3 volt logic serial interface. If your interface can do 3.3 volt serial, you’re in good shape. That said, If you want to use the CHRobotics software for monitoring/testing/calibration you will need some sort of device that registers itself as a virtual com port to interface with their software (the USB expansion board with the 5 wire cable does this)
